I was able to chat with a long time friend via messenger. It’s been a while since we talk to each other and we already got in touch with each other when she found me in Facebook. She’s one of my college buddies and I was so happy for her that she’s doing good in the US, where they have migrated few years back. Our conversation took almost 2 hours, discussing our family, careers and business.

She happily told me that she’s putting up a restaurant in LA though there are some struggles with their finances in the banks and about her personal loans that needed some attention.Her story also made me think about mortgage rates and how hard it is if you’re not been able to pay your mortgage payments that may cause you to lose your home. McHappy Day, which is known as World Children’s Day in 2009, is once again raising funds and this year, they are having Fun Run named “Ready. Set. Read”. It will be held on November 28, 2010 (Sunday) at the McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio.

All are welcome to join, no matter what your status in life, rich, poor, working in corporate world or in construction jobs, everyone will have fun and those that are joining will not only have fun but they will help raise money for the Bright Minds Read (BMR). McDonald’s chosen beneficiary.

For sure this will be a fun activity for the whole family, so set your calendars now.

I’ve been working so hard this year and I need to relax and give myself a break. I was talking to friends online last weekend and we’re talking about vacation and I could not help myself but to get envy at some point because they’ve already have vacation plans. They’re also raving about the great deals that they got on the place that they are staying in and already booked for the summer.

With all the vacation places and deals that I’ve heard from my friends, I also wanted to pamper myself and my family to a vacation. It would be nice to spend some few days at the Myrtle Beach hotel in South Carolina for I know there are lots of amenities and fun activities like golf that we all can do while there. Our family loves the beach and water, so pretty sure we’ll all have a grand time there.

Ahhh.. I can’t wait for the day that I’ll pack all our bags and head to the beach soon. It is something that we’re all looking forward since I already put in my calendar that we’re all taking a grand vacation next year.

The kids are on the holidays for a week for the Halloween and Nov. 1 celebration and my SIL has lots of time in the house. Actually, she’s busy cleaning the house right now, chucking all that unnecessary things that have accumulated all year long. This is the only chance that she has to do all the general cleaning, as she was too preoccupied with work and with the kids when they are in school.

She was checking the house, looking for other things that need some repair and it looks like the back door leading to the kitchen need some repair. It would also be nice to replace their windows in the kitchen if their budget permits them as well. As for our house, I just wanted our bathroom renovated and as soon as I saved enough, I’ll have it done.

Improvements in the house are needed occasionally to ensure that there’ll be no major damage in our house. It can be costly at times but that’s worth it since we are making improvements in the place where we are staying. Oh dear, I’m craving for some cream puffs for a long time already and I wish I can already appease my cravings. I just learned that a bakeshop just near our place is accepting orders on cakes, cookies and yes cream puff!! Fortunately, my SIL discovered it and I guess I’m going to order some come November. I thought of bringing it at the cemetery on November 1 where we’ll all going to visit  my dad’s tomb.

I guess I have to order early so that they can put me on the list. To make sure that I’ll be getting cream puffs on Nov. 1, I think I need to order by tomorrow already. Aside from that I have to check out with my other siblings what’s our menu for Nov.1. You see, going to the cemetery has become a tradition and a picnic already.

I know for sure that If I have a neat and spacious kitchen like these I’ll be more inspired to cook for my family.
