Keep Those Bugs and Insects Away for your Family’s Health
When preparing foods for our family, we need to make sure that we use clean utensils and clean hands. Dirty or filthy kitchen are good breeding grounds for bugs and insects that can make us sick. Cleaning the area for food preparation is a must to avoid contamination. We don’t want our family to get sick with the foods that we prepare right?
If your home is infected with bugs specifically stink bugs, you can always use stink bug trap or if not, just call professionals and let them eradicate those pesky predators at home for you. Don’t let them ruin your home and your health.
I’m also being conscious with the way I cut my veggies and meat. I learned that we should have 2separate cutting boards to avoid contamination esp. when we cut our chicken.
Organizing the Pantry Closet
I guess almost all of us have experienced a messy pantry at home. I have to say that I even if I use eye bolt where I can hang some items, still it looks so messy. I just love how this pantry as it looks so organized.
If I have more time, I have to sort out the items and purge all the items that I will not use anymore. I also need to buy more plastic containers for noodles and some grains. Wire racks also help in keeping all the bottles in one place.

Choosing Bed Linens for Your Children
Aside from ensuring that the foods that I serve for my family are healthy and delicious, it’s also my job to see to it that our home is comfortable and well-kept. It’s not easy and I don’t think anyone can stand a filthy house especially if you have a baby or small kids.
Children’s bedroom should be cozy enough to help them feel more relax in preparation for their sleep. A fresh and neat bed sheets or linen are a must all the time for kids will not be comfortable to sleep when they have rough and dirty sheets. I’m sure you don’t want them scratching because of the rough fabric and or sheets with insects crawling in there. Yay!
Choosing bed linens for children is a bit different and need an extra care or more scrutiny. You can choose different colors and patterns for their bedroom and of course put into consideration the type of fabric and comfortness. I love all the childrens bed linen collection from the White Company. They have wide array of children’s bed linens, duvet covers and cushions just to name a few.
Sis got a Big Kitchen
Sis and I have been doing online video conferencing almost 2x a month so we can update each other with our lives. These days, it’s not really hard to keep in touch with family and friends even if they are million miles or seas apart from us. Social networking and instant messengers also help us to communicate and even cut down our overseas phone bills. Anyway, The other weekend, my sis is touring me around her new house that I would love to visit one of these days.
She’s been showing me her living room, their bedrooms and most of all her kitchen. Since she loves to cook and bake, she really insisted to her hubby that she needs a bigger space. Now, she has 2 big oven because she bakes cakes and cupcakes for her small business. Ahhh .. I really wish I can visit her soon and will wander around her big and neat kitchen. I also love to cook and would love to learn how to bake.
Weekend Cleaning
I was scheduled to clean some parts of our house this weekend and I have to say that I need a hand to make my task much faster and cleaner. I guess a helper will come and I’ll give the kitchen task to her as she is meticulous in cleaning and scrubbing. I’m a little bit worried about the floor eventhough we had marble flooring, the grime might be a little hard to remove. I’m wishing we have a steam cleaner just like what my sis in Sydney has.
I remember steam cleaning their floor (kitchen and the living room) when I was there for a vacation and I have to say that it’s much faster and the floors are more clean after. I can’t remember where my sis purchased her steam cleaner but Deals Direct online has lots of cleaning and laundry products.
Oh well, I need to prepare early the cleaning materials that we’ll use on Sunday as we intend of starting around 7 or 8 in the morning.
New Kitchen Accessories for the New Home
I was more than glad to know that my sister finally moved to their newly constructed house last month. It’s always been my sister and her husband’s dream to have a new house built from scratch. They have envisioned a big and spacious house and loan for their growing family and now it finally came true and I’m also excited for them.
I hope that one day I can go over to visit them overseas and see their grand house. Right now, I know that my sister is pretty busy with the unpacking of the boxes and also decorating the whole house. There are also some areas in the house that need shelves and painting.
Her kitchen and dining area left me in awe when I saw some pictures at her facebook account. It was big and looks very spacious and I bet she can cook and move around the kitchen with so much ease. I know that she brought all her old kitchen stuff but knowing my sister, she’ll buy more kitchen accessories to match the new theme of her house.
How’d I wish I was there so I can accompany her shopping. With the limited time that she has working at home and taking care of the kids, she finds online shopping more convenient and I’m sure she’ll just go online and shop just like what she’s been doing most of the times.
I also heard from my sister that she’s going to learn how to bake for her kids and these kitchen accessories that I found online can help her and good addition to her kitchen utensils.
1. 3-1 cake Caddy

2. Disposable Decorating Bags

3. Vegetable peelers

Kitchen Secrets
There’s something fun shopping for kitchen gadgets and accessories for our homes. Every time I go out shopping at the malls, I always try to pass by home section and see what’s new. There are times that I end up buying a new chopping board, a new set of drinking glasses, a Teflon frying pan or anything that I think I’ll be needing in my kitchen.
There was once instance that I spent almost few hours checking out the display oven and pots and pans while I’m figuring out for myself if I’m going to buy it because it’s on SALE. Yay, the shopping diva in me came out so I bought pots that I’m really using. Don’t tell that I don’t have some in the house but every time I have new set, I’ll store the old one and use the new ones.
Anyway, these days, online stores have been coming up with contemporary kitchen equipment and tools that we as consumers will have the option to buy. Here’s what I found recently at Kitchen Cookware while browsing their site.
I know that the some of the kitchen secrets includes a good set of knives where you don’t even need to sharpen it every time just to cut a piece of meat.
1. James Martin Knives Set
2. Teflon Fry Pan -this is a MUST, I hate cooking when it’s not a non-stick pan.

My Home Projects 2011
There’s so many projects for our home that I wanted to do and accomplish this year. I started buying new appliance such as ref, washing machine, electric fans and other kitchen utensils last December and up to now the list is getting longer each day.
I already conditioned myself to buy a new LCD TV mid this year and I’m hoping to get the best deal with the help of my sister. Looking at our house lately made me want to have the inside repainted to brighten it up a little bit. The sofa also needs to be replaced as well as the ceiling light in the living room. The paintings and the art prints on the wall will stay as they are created by my brothers who are visual artists. I also need to find a new contemporary wall clock to match the new look of the room
I’m getting excited over my projects but I have not yet calculated how much I’m going to spend doing all of that. Yay! Good luck to me!
Keeping Our Homes Odor and Allergens Free
Lately, I’ve noticed that our air is not that clean anymore most especially in the city. There’s too much air pollution already in the metro and that makes us vulnerable to acquire different kinds of diseases that can be caught airborne. Gone are the days when we can breath fresh air and it’s due to urbanization and of course the massive increase of vehicles in the roads. I can only sigh and wish, there’s still a way we can revert back the times.
Our homes are not safe as well, there are many allergens and pollutants that are so minute and we can’t see them. They can pose danger to our health. The kids are most susceptible and as parents we don’t want them to get sick even if they are always in the house. Aside from cleaning the rooms in the house, it’s also best to clean our air-conditioning unit and electric fans in the house regularly to prevent built up of too much dust that can actually be cause of asthma and other respiratory problems.
Thanks to the makers of air purifiers such as Rabbit Air for they can help purify the air and eliminate different kinds of allergens and odors that can harm our health. There’s nothing more good than being aggressive in protecting the health of our family.
