The last typhoon, Pedring left a lot of places flooded and destructed. I could not beleive my eyes when I saw streets of Manila and Roxas Boulevard on the news being battered by strong winds and rain waters. I have some friends who got stranded on their way home and some of their vehicles stuck in knee to waist level waters. It was indeed a nasty storm that happened on Tuesday. I will not wonder also if rv towing services will be called to tow RVs and other vehicles.

I’m thankful that our place was not affected by floods only strong winds keep bashing our trees. Also, we’ve got lots of food supplies that time so we have enough food to cook and eat not requiring us to go to the store or market to buy our supplies.

I just hope and pray that no more destructive storms will come as it is heartbreaking to see lots of people most especially in the squatters area left with nothing.

A good friend of mine is a good cook. I often call her a cooking diva, which I believe she loves to hear from me. I’m not pulling her leg though or just making her feel good but she really is great in preparing and cooking dishes. In fact, she has this little neighborhood resto where she is one of the cooks. She loves what she is doing and it is evident on the dishes that she’s serving her clients.

Aside from cooking delicious meals, she has the keenness on make up that she plans to pursue as well. She admits that she’s not an expert yet on this kind of field so she’s very willing to learn more. In fact, she plans of going to a beauty school and it would be great if she can enroll at Austin beauty school from Regency Beauty Institute in the US. I’m sure she’ll do well also on this field especially that she has passion over it. With the professional instructors, high-end equipments and good teaching system that Regency can offer her, I know in no time she’ll be a beauty expert as well.

My bro and I were on the road last weekend to visit a relative and it was already afternoon when we’re heading home. We got stuck in traffic on one of the busy streets in the Metro and I could not help but to whine. I was already hungry and going out to dine is impossible already since I wanted to go home immediately.

Anyway, we passed by one of the McDonald’s store and I ordered my fave chicken sandwich and French fries. It will surely fill my hunger but as we are about to go to the claiming window, the car in front of us is not moving. My bro waited patiently but few more minutes passed and my bro decided to blog his horn. Apparently, the car broke down and later on the driver’s companions went out to push the car in attempt to make it start. They tried 2-3 times but it failed. I’m getting displeased about the incident but when a guy tripped and fell while pushing the car made me laugh for a while. Still could not make the car start so they just decided to push it on the side. Such a hassle especially when you’re in a hurry.

I reckon the car owner should have his vehicle checked by professional at once. My bro is quick to comment and he said that one of the things a car owner should always do is frequently checking their vehicles (motor, brake, wheels etc.) to avoid road accidents and breakdowns. Oh well, after such incident and we arrived home, we munched on our delicious McDo treats and bro is on the garage checking on his van soon after.

Ohhhh I just love fried chicken . My  bestfriend knows about it so everytime I visit their house, she never fails to cook fried chicken for me. Oh BTW, the wing part will make me tickled pink. Yum!

If you were on a deserted island, what one food would you want to have with you?

Wow, I’ll definitely I’ll bring lotsa water and of course bread.

What is/are your signature dishes? (What dishes are you ‘known’ for?)

Oh it’s my fruit “buko” salad dessert. My family loves it so much. It’s creamy and when you leave it longer at the freezer (but not to the point it will crystallize) then it tastes like ice cream.. Oh yum.. I can have this for afternoon snack or after dinner anytime as long as I’m the one who made it hehe. Well, at least I still don;t need to look for best african mango diet pill eventhough I love eating it as I’m already thin and petite.

I also love to cook Chicken Caldereta , actually I just cooked it for lunch today. I love dishes with sauce in it so this one is one of my favorite.

What’s your biggest weakness when it comes to food?

I love CAKES! Fortunately, there are 2 specialty bake shops just near our place that opened so every time I crave for cakes, I can just quickly walk and buy a slice or a whole cake.

What food can you absolutely not eat?

I don’t think I can eat exotic animals like Bayawak (monitor lizzard yikes!), snakes, frogs, crickets etc. Just thinking about them gives me goosebumps.

Every morning, coffee is my companion but since my doctor advised me not to drink bec. it gives me acid in my stomach then I’ll start not to drink it wahhhh…I don’t drink softdrinks anymore as it makes me bloated as well but I cheated once or twice this year haha.

My love for iced tea will be eliminated as well bec. just like coffee it is acid forming. So right now, WATER is the best choice for me .

Every one of us has our own style and that what makes us all different. Many people prefer to wear elegant clothing and would not even mind shelling out hefty amount of money just to slip in one of those branded clothes made by known couturiers. Fashionistas also would prefer that they wear what’s “in” and what’s “hot” in the fashion industry but the funny thing is that some fall fashion victims.

Many just prefer wearing simple casual clothes that can make them feel comfortable. In addition, for those that are looking more ways to save more money, a trip to the dollar store or used clothing can save their dying pockets.

Another form of fashion style is the alternative clothing where you can buy shirts with rude wordings and some are graphic offensive ones. Some also go for gothic style; I remember meeting a cousin of my BIL who wears black shirts/jeans, black lipstick, heavy black eyeliner and out of the ordinary clothes. I know she buys her stuff at a gothic shop and enjoys them but not all of us can appreciate gothic wear and that includes me. To each is own, I reckon.

Anyway, this also reminds me of those heavy metal rock singers and their rock clothing where they wear tight black jeans with funky metal bracelets and more.

As the holiday season is fast approaching, you can’t blame people from listing all their Christmas wishes. For some, they have gadgets, appliances, or clothing wish on their list while others are still thinking on how they can increase the flow of money to their bank by thinking of what business that they can get into. With the money that they have saved this year, putting it in the bank or investing in something is a good option. I had a nice surprise yesterday when I visited the craft bazaar that was happening at the church down the road from me. I was not even supposed to be out and about because the number one thing I had on my to-do list was to call around for moving quotes. Honestly, that one has been at the top of my list for more than a week now. It is not that I do not want to move, it is just that I really do not know what to ask for or what I should expect from a mover. So anyway, when I took my daughter to her friend’s house for an overnight stay, I saw the sign and I just had to pull in the parking lot. I am not one to turn down a good craft show. Or a bad one, for that matter.

As soon as I walked into the church door, I could smell warm chocolate. Nothing says “happy” to me like that wonderful aroma. I went straight to that booth with my hand on my wallet. You see, since we will be moving very soon, I will not have time to do all of my Christmas-time baking. Several people in my family have offered their kitchens to me so I could do it, but it just is not the same when I have to cook in a strange kitchen with tools and appliances I am unfamiliar with. This little craft booth here could be the answer to my baking predicament, though.

The young lady with the chocolate and fudge booth was standing there like an angel just ready to help. Of course I would not be using her kitchen, but even better, I was going to buy my gifts of sweets this year. Her confections were amazing!

I guess by now most of you have already put up your christmas trees as Christmas is just 31 days away as of today.Time flies real fast huh. Today, our Christmas decors in a big box will be out from it’s storage room as I plan of putting our Christmas tree this weekend.

My Christmas decors are still the same just like last year but I’m hoping to incorporate it with new Christmas lights and flowers that I bought last weekend. My theme for this year is Orange and probably next year, it’ll be blue. I just love decorating our Christmas tree and wrapping all the gifts that I’ll be giving. Christmas is really here.
