Crema de Fruta by Goldilocks

There’s no doubt that I love cakes and there are times that I always crave for them. I guess I’ve already tasted all the cakes of Red Ribbon and Goldilocks and been trying also to try cakes from other cake stores.

One of my faves at Goldilocks is their CREMA DE FRUTA, just the sound of its name makes me drool already. It is made out of a two layer chiffon cake oozing with cream and had cherries and peach on top. Your mom, friends, and even a Maritime Injury Lawyer will love this, I swear! It’s filling and can satisfy your cake cravings. It’s not too sweet and it’s creamy that’s why I like it. In the middle of the layer it has some grapes and other fruits that makes it more delicious. Try it!

According to GOLDILOCKS:

“Goldilocks is first to innovate packaging for Crema de Fruta in the Philippines. Inspired by a Spanish recipe, it is now considered a Filipino “original”. http://www.goldilocks.com.ph

The Sultan’s Golden Cake: One of the Most Expensive Desserts

The Sultan’s Golden Cake is one of the most expensive desserts to date and it costs a whooping $1,000.00. This cake is served at Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel in Istanbul. This cake consists of fruits such as apricot, figs, pears and quince that are marinated in Jamaican Rum, vanilla beans from French Polynesia and French wheat for about 2 years. This cake is amazing and stunning as it is decorated with black truffles, caramel and even dusted with 24-karat edible gold. This cake is so expensive, valuable, and only fit for a king.

If you’re aren’t ready to order such an expensive cake then maybe you can just indulge and just buy gold bars , which aren’t edible but worth the investment. These gold bars can be found at US Gold Bureau and known to be a good collection or investment to date. Though the value of gold can become unstable, it’s far more practical to have as an investment rather than stocks.

The Sultan’s Cake and real gold bars are both expensive and valuable, just choose whichever you prefer.

Cake with Edible Gold Glaze and Gold Petal Dust

Wow take a look at this elegant cake that I found at cakecentral.com. This red fondant is covered with about 9,000 sugar beads painted with edible gold glaze and gold petal dust. This  wedding cake even won winning in a competition and it’s not a surprise anymore since you can see how intricate and elegant the design is.

I’ve also been fascinated with all the edible gold that it has as part of the design and who knows in the future, someone can come up with an edible diamonds in their decor.  If that will happen, cakes will become more sophisticated and more precious. Just love this cake and the maker is very creative, I just hope it taste as good as it looks.

I Want Pavlova!!

O goodness here’s my sweet cravings once again and this time I WANT A PAVLOVA!!!! Just in case you didn’t know what Pavlova is then:

PAVLOVA- is a meringue-based dessert named after the Russian ballet dancer Ánna Pávlova. It has a light and crisp crust that has a sweet marshmallow like in the center. It originated from New Zealand or Australia.

I first tasted this when I was in Australia and oh my goodness I fell in love with it. My sister use to buy a whole cake and I enjoyed eating it as it’s not too sweet for my liking. I also love the fruits like kiwi and the strawberries that are on top of it. Arghhhhh.. it’s been a long time since I’ve eating it because I don’t think I have this kind of cake here in our country or I just didn’t know where to buy it here.

I just hope I can go back to Autsralia so that I can taste this mouth-watering Pavlova once again!  I can’t wait! Have you eaten pavlova before??
